On Friday 3rd August 2012, the city of Lagos was agog with excitement as award wining Nigerian director Obi Emelonye premiered his latest flick Last Flight to Abuja, at the Palms Shopping Mall, Lekki in grand style.
Apart from the excellent reviews the movie got and all the famous stars that were in attendance at the premiere including Oge Okoye, 9ice, Kunle Afolayan and Halima Abubakar, the most buzzed about topic was the movie’s leading lady Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, who strut down the black carpet with her own real life leading man Captain Matthew Ekeinde.
The top actress and her pilot husband dapper in a Grey suit, who tied the knot in 1996 rarely make public appearances together but were all smiles at the premiere as they took photos with some stars of the movie and greeted all attendees.

Omotola was the epitome of perfection at the Lagos premiere of Last Flight to Abuja as she arrived in a stunning black frock from Vonne Couture‘s “Black Mamba” collection displayed at the 2012 Arise Magazine Fashion Week. The Nigerian label altered the dress from the runway to better suit Omo T’s silhouette. The designer chose to keep the upper bodice of the dress and chose a figure hugging skirt with a slit that showed off Omotola’s toned legs. She accessorized her dress with crystal encrusted drop down earrings with a black stud, silver bracelets and black pumps. We are totally loving her simple and classy look for the premiere. Simply gorgeous in a green lace House of Dorcas dress, which she wore for as an aso-ebi for an event earlier in the day, accessorized her look with chandelier pink diamond encrusted earrings, a gold ring and a chic pink Ene Maya hat. Not one to let his wife take the spotlight alone, Captain Matthew Ekeinde also showed up dapper in a grey suit.
The couple were all smiles inside Harbour Point as different entertainers stepped on stage to thrill all.

Although disturbed by the media, Nigeria’s undisputed entertainer, 2 Face Idiba and his actress wife, Annie Macaulay-Idibia also came in hand-in-hand in a matchy-matchy black ensemble to the concert.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde‘s 35th birthday party celebration still continues. After celebrating her birthday with Atlanta’s elite on Sunday 10th February 2013, a surprise party was held for the Nollywood star yesterday Monday 25th February 2013 on her arrival from the USA.
The star studded party held at the Grand Bee Suites, Ikeja, Lagos was organised by her husband Captain Matthew Ekeinde. According to sources, Omotola was whisked from the airport by her husband to a booked section for her at Golden Bee Suites.
On arrival, they were led to a private lounge where her Nollywood colleagues including Genevieve Nnaji, Monalisa Chinda, Chidi Mokeme, Bimbo Akintola, Patrick Doyle and Ibinabo Fiberesima as well as AY, Banky W and Sound Sultan were present to surprise the movie star.
Later in the evening, Omotola changed from a black top and casual boho chic Ankara skirt to a sequined halter neck dress with Ankara bodice and flared orange skirt.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde‘s children are all grown up.
On Sunday 4th August 2013, the Actor’s Guild of Nigeria honoured the star actress at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos for being enlisted as one of the most influential people in the world by Time Magazine.
It was a family affair for the 35 year old movie star. She arrived on the scene with her husband Capt. Matthew Ekeinde and her 4 children Princess, M.J., Meraiah and Michael.
The couple’s first daughter Princess (16) wore a pretty green chiffon dress with a sequined bodice while their first son M.J. (15) wore a red blazer, a white shirt and black pants.
The couple’s last two children Meraiah (13) wore a brown halter neck dress and Michael (11) looked cute in a black blazer, a red shirt, jeans and black shoes.
